crescent layer bars

This is one of my go-to desserts. It is always a big hit. Quick, easy, and delish. My top three requirements. We had a pot luck lunch yesterday at work and this was my contribution.

Crescent Layer Bars
adapted from Pillsbury.com

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
  • 1 cup white vanilla baking chips
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9 inch pan.
  2. Unroll dough into long rectangles. Place in pan, press over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust. Bake 5 minutes.
  3. Remove partially baked crust from oven. Sprinkle with vanilla chips, chocolate chips, and nuts evenly over crust. Pour condensed milk evenly over top.
  4. Return to oven; bake 20 to 25 minutes longer or until golden brown.
  5. Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pan.
  6. Cool 1 hour. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Cut into bars.
The condensed milk caramelizes and is fabulous! These things are so good.

Here's how mine ended up
